What drives the price
- Who assesses you. Psychiatrists charge the most and attract the largest rebate. Psychologist-led assessments cannot lead to medication. GP-led telehealth models are cheaper and newer, and depend on state prescribing rules.
- The workup. Referral, ECG and blood tests are usually bulk-billed or rebated when your own GP orders them.
- What comes after. Reviews, scripts and letters are often priced separately; check whether they are included.
Medicare and private health
