Why Inner Help exists

Inner Help is an Australian online ADHD assessment and care service with neurodivergent-informed therapy.

In brief. Inner Help is an Australian online ADHD assessment and care service, with therapy that understands neurodivergence and a finder for therapists who do too. We built it because getting assessed as an adult in Australia is slow, expensive and depends on where you live. We think it can be done properly, in weeks, on one clear fee.

The problem

Most adults who suspect they have ADHD wait a long time to find out. A public psychiatry referral can take a year or more. A private assessment can cost well over a thousand dollars before any care begins. Whether you can be seen at all often depends on your postcode, and regional Australians are left with the least.

Long waits

Months on a list, then a single long appointment, then more waiting for a follow-up. Life does not pause while you wait.

High cost

Assessment fees are often paid up front, with little Medicare support, and the price is rarely clear until the invoice arrives.

A postcode lottery

Access to a clinician who assesses adult ADHD varies by state and by suburb. Distance should not decide whether you get an answer.

A system built for children

ADHD pathways were designed around kids in classrooms. Adults, and women in particular, are still often overlooked or misread.

What we built

1

Assessment in weeks

A structured, GP-led assessment over two to three telehealth sessions, with a psychiatrist medical director overseeing the service and reviewing files where a state requires it. Read how it works at ADHD assessment.

2

Care on one fee

ADHD assessment with Inner Help opens state by state in 2026: GP-led with psychiatrist oversight, workup at a clinic near you, price and process published in full before it opens. Join the waitlist. You do not need a diagnosis to start therapy now.

3

Therapy that understands neurodivergence

Therapists who work with ADHD and autistic adults every day, paid per session at the practitioner's fee with your Medicare rebate lodged for you, or on a weekly plan with messaging from counsellors and coaches. See therapy.

4

A finder

A directory of neurodivergent-informed therapists across Australia, so you can choose a fit rather than take whoever is next. See the therapist finder.

Our principles

Separate decisions

Assessment, diagnosis and prescribing are separate decisions. Paying for an assessment does not buy a diagnosis, and a diagnosis does not guarantee medication.

Honest about limits

Telehealth suits many people and not everyone. We say clearly who we cannot help and where to go instead. Read our clinical governance.

Affirming practice

ADHD and autism are differences in how a mind works. Our clinicians and therapists start from that view, not from a deficit.

Transparent pricing

Every fee is published before you book. No surprise invoices, no hidden gap.

Data in Australia

Your health information is stored in Australia. Booking tools hold only your name, email and appointment time. See our privacy policy.

Your GP stays involved

With your consent we write to your regular GP at each stage, so your care joins up rather than splitting off.

The founder

Inner Help was founded in 2019 by Adam Ducquet and rebuilt in 2026 around neurodivergent adults. It is a small Australian company, not a clinic chain, and it exists because the path to understanding your own mind as an adult is slower, dearer and lonelier than it needs to be.

Why neurodivergence

Adam spent years being treated for anxiety and depression before the picture made sense. The treatment helped with some things and left others untouched, and the questions that would have changed the picture were never asked. That is a common story among adults who are assessed late, and it is the story Inner Help is built to shorten.

What that shaped

Three rules came out of it. Say the price before anyone books. Use tools that are validated rather than impressive. Put people who understand neurodivergent adults at every step, from the first self-test to the practitioner you are matched with, so nobody has to explain themselves twice.

How Inner Help is run

Clinical decisions sit with registered practitioners and a clinical lead, never with the company. Practitioners on the platform are independent, checked against their registers, and paid fairly for the work they do. Your data stays in Australia. When we get something wrong, we say so and fix it.
